A more straightforward look at the Stölzle Cocoon stem, the wineglass elevating conversation for Season 8 of the show.
Elegantly tall, brilliantly light, and with a large, uniquely shaped bowl that makes swirling effortless, the overall design is both effective and dramatic. But do the panelists like it? Tune in to the podcast to find out!

The Cocoon stem from Stölzle doesn’t just hold wine; it frames it. We’re obsessed with the new, elevated drinking experience these bring to the show. Major thanks to @gabriel_group for ensuring every pour has as much character as our guests.

Season 8 planning sessions be like…
And yeah, Matthiasson Napa Valley scheurebe! Supercool, right?! Not as aromatically spiced as German variants typically are, but easier to drink for it.
Stay tuned for very exciting news about Season 8 changes; we’re excited for some changes that we think listeners will love! Coming soon!

The Real Wine Show returns to Earth in February 2026.
#therealwineshow #winepodcast
Thanks to all of our guests, listeners, and in-studio supporters for making 2025 a great year for us!
Our Spotify Wrapped stats revealed it was an important year for growth, and these three awards really explain why. You find the show engaging, it’s one of your favorites, and you take the time to share it with others.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️
We’ll work hard to keep delivering more of what you like in ‘26!
New for you! We’re putting the wrap on Season 7 with thoughts from three dudes with their fingers on the pulse of the progressive wine scene (is that a thing?) in Detroit.
Jarred Gild has been a prime mover for about two decades, with notable wine spots like Western Market, Stadt Garden, Pash & Glou, the Schvitz, and Dakota Inn to his credit. @convivialcollab
A comparative newcomer to Detroit, Nick Arone nonetheless has made his Bar Chenin, tucked in a back sidespace of the Siren Hotel, a staple for city winelovers looking for a little more cut in both their wine and winedrinking experience. @barchenin
He doesn’t call himself an influencer, but Jarett Coy has been steadily cranking out wine-specific social media that has landed on more than a few of our feeds. His reviews and interviews take him across the city to its newest, most interesting, and fun spots for juice junkies. @vinoindetroit
Our sixth and final episode for the season, and 63rd overall episode for the show, also marks the end of our first two years, a fact which we find kind of staggering. It has passed quickly, but we’ve made so many new friends and enjoyed connecting with our wine community in a unique, novel, and totally fun way, so we’re grateful to all who have made the journey with us.
More good stuff is on the way, but now enjoy S7 E6; it’s great listening!
Oh, and please subscribe to the show on your favorite podcast provider. We’re looking to make some moves to be able to kick out more and better content, so the follows would really help.
If you haven’t listened yet, you can find all The Real Wine Show episodes easily on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music/Audible, and more!

S7 E5 is, as they say in the podcast biz (!), a meaty one, ranging from ‘90s pop movie references to a groundbreaking, highly technical, wine salvage technique, and onto practical suggestions on how to choose a spouse! We also taste wines from Italy, Georgia, and Australia...and opine on what happened to the latter in the USA market.
Our panelists for all this fascinating discussion are Cody Formisano of York, and Ann Arbor wine bar and retail spot; Pedro San Antonio, a longtime wine enthusiast and literature prof from Henry Ford Community College; and distiller and winemaker David Landrum, founder of Detroit’s first post-Prohibition distillery, Two James.
It’s a show we know you’ll love, and we sincerely appreciate your audience! Please let us know if you enjoyed listening with a heart, like, follow or subscription; the feedback helps us continue to bring you this kind of unique, wine content.
You can listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, or your preferred podcast source. You can listen and watch on YouTube, and keep up with our schedule and happenings on Instagram, at @therealwine show.
Thank you and enjoy!

It’s all about perspective, right, and these folks bring three distinct perspectives to make one great episode of fun and insightful wine talk!
Emily is the ED of the Michigan wine Collaborative, providing marketing with a focus on the production side. Kaira runs a wine club that is an exemplar of the consumer segment everyone wants a piece of, and they not only drink the stuff, they get out and visit wineries, dine, and socialize, really engaging deeply with the culture of wine. Mike owns M4 distributing, so he’s one of the handful of actual tastemakers in Michigan, responsible for a portfolio of domestic and imported wines that fill the shelves and wine lists of top restaurants and retailers across the state.
It’s a potent melange, and if you want to understand what’s happening in the MI wine scene, listen to what these folks have to say. We came away feeling proud and excited for our corner of the wine world, and think you will too!
